privacy,
plainly.
A room for heavy feelings has to be safe to be in. So we keep almost nothing — and here is exactly what.
stays on your device, only
- which ghosts you met, when, and where you were on the feeling field
- your sky, your shelf, the secrets you found, the lanterns you lit
- the notes you received and the ones you folded
This lives in your browser's own storage. We can't see it. You can erase it any time: in the room, about → empty the room.
reaches our server — anonymously
- counts — “someone met bandit today”, “a lantern was lit for lonely”. A number goes up by one. Nothing says who.
- notes between strangers — built only from a fixed list of kind words. There is no free text, so nothing personal can be written.
- a 2-minute spam guard — a scrambled, salted fingerprint of the connection, kept for about two minutes to stop flooding, then deleted. We never store IP addresses.
your email, if you give it
If you join the list for the first batch of objects, we keep your email address — nothing else — and use it for that: we write once when the batch is ready, and rarely after that. Every email has a way to leave. To have it deleted now, write to hello@soft-ghost.com. We never sell, rent or share it.
what we never do
- no accounts, no cookies, no ads, no tracking pixels, no analytics that follow you
- no selling or sharing of any data, to anyone
- no reading your feelings: they never leave your device
who runs the machines
The site and the small server run on Cloudflare. Like any host, Cloudflare processes connections to deliver the pages; it doesn't receive anything from your room beyond what's listed above.
not therapy
soft.ghost is company, not care. If it's heavier than a ghost can hold, please reach a real voice: call or text 988 (US), or find a line where you are at findahelpline.com.
age
The room isn't made for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect anything from them.
